As a native Texan, Nathan grew up valuing family and football. Football took him to the University of Iowa where he played quarterback for the Hawkeyes on the way to a 10-3 record and a Top-10 ranked season.
As the acquisitions manager for Colonial Southern Group, a real estate development company, Nathan learned the business by beginning with site selection, securing entitlements, completing development and managing assets. At the end of 2007, the company shifted toward the disposition of its assets, and he assisted in the marketing and sale of five self-storage properties.
After the Colonial sale, Nathan was retained as a consultant by Cooper & Stebbins, developer of the 860,000 square foot Southlake Town Square mixed-use development. He reviewed potential opportunities for future residential development and developed a Residential Strategy to provide a guide for the company to follow when the market allows.
From 2009 to 2017 Nathan served as CEO of Heatley Capital, a real estate investment company. At Heatley, he added the partnership formation and negotiation experience to his real estate background. During those 8 years Nathan organized investments in retail, hospitality, medical office, raw land, student housing, multifamily, assisted living and hotel assets.
All of these experiences prepared Nathan for the intricate multiple tasks of real estate acquisitions and development. He oversees deal selection, partnership structure, and asset management for the company.
